I provide photography tuition, from understanding the basic camera controls to more advanced techniques and processing in Lightroom and Photoshop. Please contact me for further details.

I have also started to develop a number of online tutorials, primarily aimed at the beginner. These are intended as an introduction to the basic concepts of photography.

So many people that I meet have bought or been given cameras and they are afraid to ever take them off the automatic setting.  A little knowledge about what is happening when you change the settings and the effect on the final image, goes a long way in building the confidence to experiment.

Digital photography has made experimentation virtually free so there is no excuse not to get out there and play with the settings.

The first tutorial is about exposure and explains what this means and then a section on how to take control of the camera to avoid common mistakes or become more creative and adventurous. It explains the concepts of aperture and shutter speed and how these relate to each other and the effect that each can have on the final image.

More tutorials will be added soon but please try these for starters.
